Former US president Barack Obama comedy in works

Workplace comedy related to administration of ex-US president Barack Obama is set to be made based on a book proposal by a former White House stenographer.

The workplace comedy focuses on the Obama White House with the storyline revolving around "From the Corner of the Oval" book which was proposed by former White House stenographer Beck Dorey-Stein.

Dorey-Stein's book will be published by Random House Publishing Group division Spiegel & Grau and is expected to come out in 2018.

Universal Pictures and Anonymous Content teamed to adapt the book for a film which is in the works. Michael Sugar with Anonymous Content, one of whose projects includes the Oscar-winning drama ‘Spotlight’, is to produce the comedy.

The book does not unfold the specifics on the Obama administration, offering, however, a revealing look into the relationships between the staffers at the White House.
